Porta}Zush}Evru Act 10: Tecura 4.0
23.03.2009 - 04.04.2009
The ACT 10: Tecura 4.0 is an interactive installation created by Evru to accompany the exhibition Porta}Zush. 1961-1979. Visitors can explore their own creativity using a digital application and can print out their work and/or post it on the virtual gallery on Tecura.org.
Evru, one of the pioneers of digital art in Spain, started to apply this technology to his paintings in the 1980s under the guise of Zush, and made systematic and subversive use of it throughout this decade in many works employing apparently conventional techniques.
Zush firmly believes that there is an artist inside each and every one of us, as made clear in his own words: “I’ve always believed that everyone has creative potential, and the digital medium lets visitors create and interact with an exhibition space; they move from being passive subjects to exploring their own creativity”. This same premise gave birth to the interactive application Tecura, which he started to work on in 1999.
Version 4.0, perfected during 2008, is being presented at Nivell Zero, and includes images of personalised templates for the Porta}Zush exhibition in tribute to the Fundació Suñol.
