Joan Miró will be the protagonist of an exhibition focused on the works that the artist created during his stay in Paris, a period in which the painter was captivated by Surrealism.
Absolute reality explores a fundamental period of his career: the one that goes from 1920 —the date of his first trip to Paris— to 1945, characterized by his constant boiling of ideas, ranging from initial magical realism to a personal vocabulary of constellated signs or floating on ambiguous backgrounds. In this evolution, the attraction that prehistoric art —including cave paintings, petroglyphs and statuettes— exerted on Miró, who advocated returning to the dawn of art with the intention of recovering its original spiritual meaning, became evident.
