Luis Gordillo. Iceberg Tropical

In 2007 Fundació Suñol collaborated with the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía by contributing with several works by Gordillo to the exhibition Luis Gordillo. Tropical Iceberg, which the artist himself curated. The exhibition extended the artist’s recognition after receiving the Premio Velázquez de Artes Plásticas 2007 for his contribution to the configuration of the Spanish avant-garde. The exhibition was conceived as a retrospective without following a chronological order, and sought to reflect the narrative tension that characterises his work, which is highly complex and ironic, combining automatic drawing, chromatic experimentation, psychic exploration or the juxtaposition of images and ideas.
