Joan Ponç. Diábolo

In 2017 the Fundació Suñol took part in the exhibition Joan Ponç. Diábolo, organised by the Fundació Catalunya – La Pedrera, with the loan of a piece by the artist. The exhibition, which also travelled to the Musée d’Art Moderne de Céret, brings together and presents, as an anthology, the figure of the painter Joan Ponç and his work, from the beginnings in the 1940s, when, together with other artists and intellectuals, he founded the group Dau al Set, until the 1980s. His painting, dark and strange, led him to be described by critics as grotesque and diabolical; certainly his work is the reflection of a tormented life.
