Curated by: Fabio Benzi
The Kröller-Müller Museum presents Futurism & Europe. The aesthetics of a new world, an exhibition focused on one of the most important avant-gardes of the early 20th century, Futurism. Nearly 200 works can be admired in a dialogue with other European art movements, such as De Stijl in the Netherlands, the Bauhaus in Germany, the Espirit Nouveau in France and Russian Constructivism. All these movements will be connected with Futurism in this exhibition that unites painting, sculpture, furniture, carpets, ceramics, interior design, books, fashion, graphic work and a wide range of objects with various uses from the period from 1912 to 1939.
Works by Italian futurists Giacomo Balla, Umberto Boccioni, Fortunato Depero, Antonio Sant’Elia and Enrico Prampolini will be exhibited together with Sonia Delaunay, Le Corbusier, Fernand Léger, Walter Gropius, Marcel Breuer, Oskar Schlemmer, El-Lissitsky, Vladimir Tatlin, Alexander Rodchenko, Theo van Doesburg and Gerrit Rietveld, among others. The exhibition is curated by Fabio Benzi.
The Fundació Suñol collaborates in this exhibition by lending the work:
