On this occasion the Fundació Suñol collaborates with CaixaForum by contributing with one of the famous portraits of Mao to the exhibition Warhol. Mechanical Art, which travelled from Barcelona to Madrid and Malaga (Picasso Museum) between September 2017 and September 2018. The exhibition delves into the story of the American artist’s creative development, from his beginnings as a graphic designer in New York to his death, being a myth of Pop Art. The title, which comes from the production methods that Warhol himself would define as typical of an “assembly line”, alludes to the apparently impersonal nature of his work, intentionally devoid of any spiritual charge.
