The Fundació Suñol collaborates with the espais c project with the help of the artists Ida Barbati, Gherty Gutiérrez and Boris Mercado, who during the 2023-2024 academic year have moved their workshop to one of the spaces of the Institut Escola Arts in the Sants-Montjuic district. This educational project, in which the Fundació Suñol takes the role of mediator, aims to generate creative complicity with the center’s students.
espais c is a program promoted by the Consorci d’Educació de Barcelona, the Institut de Cultura de Barcelona and the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. The coordination and mediation of the entire program is the responsibility of the Fabra i Coats-Centre d’Art and d’Experimentem amb l’Art, with the participation of Hangar, the Fundació Antoni Tàpies and the Fundació Suñol.
The program, which is aimed at public primary schools in Barcelona, is based on the link between artists and col·lectius with these. The artists develop a residence of any kind at the school, which also makes available to the creators a space where their new residence is located.
This space is open and accessible to children so that they can develop their various projects shared between the studio/workshop and the artist.
The project is fundamentally based on generating a contact zone between artists, students, teaching teams and media teams, in order to create the educational community while allowing displacements and transformations in multiple directions.
