An artist interested in painting, sculpture and drawing, he exhibited for the first time in his hometown at the age of just 18. During the seventies, he travelled around Spain and abroad to discover and find inspiration for his works. His passion for plastic art is also linked to literature, which he developed with the creation of various books. His books of engravings and his collections of poems stand out. In the nineties, Antonio Saura contacted him to participate in a commemorative exhibition of Goya. In 2003, the year of his death, he was awarded Best Living Spanish Artist at the ARCO Fair.
His painting moves in a field of informalist procedures mixed with a figurative dimension. In the field of sculpture, his works with ceramics and installation stand out. He usually incorporates Christian iconography from Catholic Europe in his works, one of his most treated themes has been the legend of Saint Simeon. In his paintings we find mostly seated figures in profile, in which we can sense intense feelings of loneliness, lack of communication, the passing of time and an inherent transcendence. It is interesting to note that he explored the musical world of great composers who were references for the artist such as Johann Sebastian Bach and Ludwig van Beethoven.
The Fundació Suñol preserves one of his works, entitled Pintura de la media muerte (Painting of Half Death) (1986).
