Catalan painter. His family owned the Ateneu cinema, and this relationship with the world of cinema was reflected in his works, seeking the “cinematic view of painting”, which marked his style. At the end of the 80s, he became a teacher at the Massana School, where he received his artistic training.
His work is characterized by manipulating reality through glazes and transparencies. He uses brushstrokes in his paintings as layers of diffused light. We always find a certain cinematic touch present in his productions. He himself says that he feels more influenced by Hitchcock than by Picasso, by cinema rather than by the plastic arts. Another of his influences when creating works is fire, an element that inspires him in themes of form and light. His painting is slow and laborious, for him that moment of the creative process where he sits in his studio and investigates through images and forms what will end up being his personal artistic universe is essential. That is why we also notice a certain intimate character in it. His painting evolved over time. From a more conceptual beginning in the seventies, passing through an almost hyperrealist approach to neo-expressionism in the 80s.
