Warhol Vijande, Cita en Barcelona Guided tour with Rodrigo Navia-Osorio Vijande
16.01.2025, 18:30
Rodrigo Navia-Osorio Vijande, son of the gallery owner Fernando Vijande and president of the Fundació Suñol, will give a guided tour of the exhibition Warhol & Vijande, Cita en Barcelona, where he will explain, among other things, and in first person, what it meant to commission Andy Warhol to create a tailor-made exhibition and how he got the pop artist to visit Madrid to inaugurate ‘Pistols, Knives, Crosses’, at the Galería Fernando Vijande, in 1983.
The exhibition explores the significance of Warhol’s visit to Madrid in 1983, organised by Fernando Vijande to present the exhibition Pistols, Knives, Crosses, putting Spain on the international art map. The exhibition is completed with 20 photographs from Christopher Makos’s Altered Image series, in which he portrays his friend and collaborator Andy Warhol.
