Sara Fontán and Anna Irina Russell O-brim! Deforming the signal
16.11.2019, 20:15h
Sara Fontán and Anna Irina Russell propose a dialogue based on improvisation, playing with deforming the signal, either sound or light, out of different devices that alter the initial stimulus.
Sara Fontán’s concerts are the soundtrack of whatever one wants to imagine, giving the spectator the freedom to interpret it and feel it in a personal way. The violin, amplified, looped and passed through dozens of effects, has the talent to excite us through abstraction, without thematic or stylistic references, beyond post-rock, contemporary classical, noise or minimalism.
Anna Russell’s artistic practice is based on the recreational as a research tool on codes and forms of communication and interaction. She is interested in dynamiting the relationships between body, space and object out of that which is disconcerting and unusual, using interfaces as a space for interaction. In both the actions and the interactive installations with which she works, there is a component of real and living time that allows her to understand the public not as an object but as a subject that becomes an essential part of the action.
For this occasion, together they present an interaction between sound, light and space, playing with the non-static condition of these elements. Error, sound and distortion.
We are opening a new space in the district of Les Corts, in the historic Galeria 2. Josep Suñol Collection’s home since the 80’s and place of residence of different artists, it is an important location in our trajectory that connects us with the beginnings to unleash a project of future.
On the occasion of the reopening, we are having a presentation event for the new space with activities to experience the different ways of inhabiting an empty space. We will have specific projects designed for the occasion by Luis Bisbe, Miralda, Mònica Planes, Esther García Barbero, Anna Irina Russell and Sara Fontán.
Come activate the new space!
