Modest Cuixart was a Catalan painter and a key figure in the artistic avant-garde of the 20th century. Co-founder of the Dau al Set movement, Cuixart explored a personal style influenced by surrealism and expressionism, evolving towards a very gestural and material painting. His works often incorporate intense textures and dreamlike images, transmitting an emotional force and a unique visual richness.
