Japanese painter. He studied at the Suidobata Academy in Tokyo, where he met the painter Ito Teixo. He moved to Barcelona in 1974, where he continued his studies at the Llotja, the School of Fine Arts of Sant Jordi and the Academy of Mural Painting in Sant Cugat del Vallès. In addition, Barcelona was the city that gave him the opportunity to exhibit his work for the first time in 1977. Two years later, in 1979, he was awarded the Joan Miró drawing prize. His work is characterized by having his own style of geometric abstraction, we find schematic perspectives and paintings broken down into various geometric figures accompanied by a livid polychromy. Occasionally, we find that Enjoji also works with ceramics.
The Fundació Suñol preserves a single work by the artist, made in 1979, with no title. In 2009 we can see him in the collective exhibition held by the foundation entitled: ‘Colloquiums. Part One’. Exhibition that showed 24 works from the Josep Suñol Collection, through 12 dialogues between 20th century artists that are examples of antagonisms and coincidences. In this exhibition we saw Enjoji’s work in dialogue with that of the Spanish artist, Luis Gordillo.
