Jordi Tolosa

Badalona (Barcelona), 1956

Catalan conceptual artist. He takes up the testimony initiated in the second half of the 20th century by the new artistic languages. He uses materials such as iron, aluminium or light to form his artistic productions.

His work contains a poetic symbolism, plays with duality and confrontations to create sensations and doubts in us before an art that has no fixed answer but a multitude of interpretations. The passage of time, the representation of space, or the importance of chance are some of his most touched themes. Without a doubt, reflection is the basis of the creation of his works.

The Suñol Soler Collection houses 3 works by the artist, all of them belonging to the typology of the installation. After a strange night joy (1988), The beach (1988) and Descriptive geography (1989). His work was shown in 2 collective exhibitions of the Suñol Foundation: ‘5th Anniversary. 27 works, 18 authors’ (2011-2012) and ‘La Sala. Vilanova i la Geltrú: Signs and writings’ (2022).
